The year starts in September 1998. It is for everyone - children, teenagers and adults, avid readers, those who rarely read at all, and those for whom learning difficulties are a barrier to reading enjoyment. Working in partnership with communities and businesses, families and individuals, the National Year of Reading will promote reading through events and initiatives designed to encourage everyone to read for pleasure and for information, more widely and more often. Although the National Year of Reading will soon be drawing to a close, we'd like to hear about any events or activities that your school or class held to promote the Year. Please e-mail the Virtual Literacy Centre and we will highlight your work on these pages. |
