Questions
Firstly, what are DIRECTIONS?
When you give DIRECTIONS, you are basically
issuing orders, telling someone how to do something as precisely as possible. This might
be in the process of getting someone from one place to another, or telling them how to
make a cake. In any case you are DIRECTING them as clearly and as accurately as you can.

What are INSTRUCTIONS ?
When you give someone INSTRUCTIONS,
you are helping them to do something they can't do. You might be instructing them on doing
something complicated that must be done in stages, or instructing them on how to do a
number of simple tasks that need to be done in a particular order.
What is an EXPLANATION ?
When you EXPLAIN something to someone, you are
giving them information to help them better understand. You might be explaining the way
something works, or a reason for doing something about which they are not clear.
